Toilet Repair & Installation

A toilet that keeps running, leaks around the base, clogs repeatedly, or will not flush properly needs an assessment of the fixture and its connections. Gulfview Plumbing & Water Treatment provides toilet repair and replacement in Pinellas County and selected surrounding communities.

Tell us what you are noticing

Does the tank keep refilling? Is there water on the floor, a weak flush, or a recurring blockage? Tell us when the problem started and whether other fixtures are also draining poorly. Mention any recent repair or installation and the model information if available. These details help plan the visit, but do not replace a diagnosis.

Running toilets and tank repairs

A running toilet may need a tank-component repair rather than a complete replacement. We identify the problem, check which parts fit your model and explain the toilet repair before work begins. Afterward, we test flushing and refilling. If you are also concerned about increased water use, see our high-water-bill guide.

Leaks around the toilet

Water near the fixture does not identify the source by itself. The supply connection, tank, bowl, and base connection need different assessments. Describe when the water appears and whether it follows flushing or refilling. A loose or rocking toilet should also be evaluated; tightening hardware without understanding the condition is not a substitute for an inspection.

Clogs and recurring backups

A blockage confined to one toilet and a backup affecting several fixtures may involve different portions of the drainage system. Repeated clearing does not establish the underlying cause. Gulfview can discuss local stoppage service or further drain and sewer investigation based on the findings. Drain cleaning does not carry a warranty.

Toilet stoppage clearing starting at $350

Includes assessment, an attempt using a professional closet auger and/or plunging, and flushing and drainage testing. A wet/dry vacuum may be used to extract debris or improper items from the bowl or trapway when appropriate. Toilet removal and reinstallation for direct drain access cost extra.

The charge covers the clearing attempt, including labor, time and equipment, even if the blockage remains. Further cabling, alternate access or downstream work may be needed; we explain the findings and quote additional work for your approval. Stoppage clearing carries no warranty. Confirm the final scope and price before work begins. Business properties should review our separate commercial clearing prices.

What should go in the toilet?

Keep flushing to human waste and toilet paper. Put wipes, paper towels and other disposable products in the trash, even when wipes are marketed as flushable. EPA guidance explains why wipes and other items should not be flushed. Changing paper or buying a stronger-flushing toilet does not establish the cause of recurring backups; tell us about repeated problems so the drain can be assessed.

When replacement is worth discussing

Compare repair and replacement when the fixture is damaged, suitable parts are unavailable, repeated problems continue, or you want a different fit or design. A newer model is not automatically the right choice for every installation. Discuss the condition of the existing fixture, the available options, and the complete installed scope before deciding.

Planning your new toilet

We can help you choose, supply and install your new toilet. Our team reviews the space, bowl shape, seat height and existing connections with you, including any comfort or accessibility preferences. You do not need to purchase a toilet before calling; we explain the model options and installed price so you can decide.

We check the installation conditions and explain any additional work needed for the flange, shutoff valve, supply connection or surrounding floor. If a hidden problem appears after removal, we discuss the repair and price before proceeding. Already have a toilet you want installed? We also install customer-supplied fixtures and review compatibility and coverage with you.

Would a stronger-flushing model help?

Ask whether the problem is with the toilet itself or the connected drainage before choosing a replacement. Compare the selected model’s installation requirements, performance information and water use. A pressure-assisted or higher-performance model is not a substitute for correcting a blocked or damaged drain, and no toilet should be promised as clog-free.

Toilet furnished and installed starting at $615

Gulfview furnishes and installs one white Gerber Maxwell two-piece toilet with a standard-height round-front bowl, standard flush system and standard plastic seat. Includes removal and haul-away of the old toilet, a new wax seal and braided supply line, caulk or grout at the base as appropriate, and flushing, drainage and leak checks.

Flange repair or replacement is additional and quoted after removal. Declining a required flange repair voids Gulfview labor and material warranty coverage for this installation. Upper-floor and multi-unit installations may require additional labor charges. Confirm model suitability, access and the final scope before approving work. Other heights, bowl shapes and models have separate pricing.

Gulfview-furnished work and materials carry a two-year residential or one-year commercial warranty. Existing plumbing and customer-supplied items are excluded; manufacturer terms apply separately.

Already purchased a toilet? Installation starts at $365

This starting price covers installation of one standard customer-supplied one-piece or two-piece toilet. It includes a wax seal, metal-braided supply line, base caulking or grouting, disposal of the old toilet, and operation and leak testing. The new toilet is not included.

Flange repairs cost extra. Above-ground-floor or multi-unit installations may require additional charges, quoted for approval. Specialty toilet installations require a separate scope. We confirm compatibility, access, and the complete installation price before you approve the work.

Cost and warranty

Pricing depends on the diagnosis, parts or equipment, access, and installation conditions. Request an estimate for your specific work rather than assuming all toilet repairs or replacements cost the same. Qualifying materials furnished by Gulfview carry a two-year residential parts and labor warranty. Customer-supplied materials are excluded. Confirm applicable coverage with the estimate; stoppage clearing is not covered by the repair-material warranty.
